Today’s lifestyle where people often say “ workplace is their second home” may call for unwanted stress & biological problems. Sedentary lifestyle:

But good news is : our joints don't "wear out" like car parts, but it actually gets healthier with use -- unlike machines Here problem is you sit for 8 hours atleast per day.

What does a sedentary lifestyle cause?

Lack of physical activity can contribute to or be a risk factor for:
• Anxiety
• Cardiovascular disease
• Mortality in elderly men by 30% and double the risk in elderly women
• Deep vein thrombosis
• Depression
• Diabetes
• Colon cancer
• High blood pressure
• Obesity
• Osteoporosis
• Lipid disorders
• Kidney stones

It is harmful to sit in the same posture for more than 2 hours as it stiffens your joints and later leads to many joint disorders.
You should take a minute’s break every hour to stretch yourself completely so that your muscles get to relax.

Second:
Eat nutritious food and add lots of fruits in your diet.
Include juicy fruits which contain Vitamin C which acts as an anti oxidant and helps you relive from stress.

Third:
Find time for relaxation of 20 minutes daily from your hectic lifestyle. This will keep you away from anxiety disorders and depression from monotonous working.

Fourth:
Bad posture leads to gastric problems and thus sitting erect and not bending will keep your back healthy.

Drink fluids:
For gastrointestinal disorders Increase your fluid intake and drink at least two litres of water a day, regardless of food containing water. Drinking more liquids will increase the humidity level in the intestines and this will improve their functions.

Increase your activity:
This can be done by little measures like :
• Take stairs instead of the elevator
• Walk to work if its possible
• Take a walk over to talk to your colleague instead of ringing him or her.
• When going out, put on your walking shoes and walk
• Invest in an exercise bike and do exercise whilst watching TV
• Learn a few yoga moves and practice them religiously when you get up in the morning
